Find Best Solution for Advanced Business with BPM Tool

Video interview of Nuxeo’s CTO during JBossWorld in

Transcript: I’m Thierry Delprat, and I work as the CTO for Nuxeo, which is an open source company. We’re located in Paris. Our main business is to build an open source content management framework. For us, it was more than an implementation on JBoss, it was a total technology switch. We’ve decided in 2006 to migrate all of our platform to the Java technology. Our idea was to find a partner in open source that would be able to bring us a lot of the infrastructure we need to build our solutions. So, when we looked inside the JBoss solutions, we found the application server, the distributed cache system, the BPM solution, Seam which we use as our core web framework. We also use JRules. So it was pretty interesting for us to take the JBoss solution. The fact that inside Seam, we’re able to access all the services we need using injection or outjection is very convenient for us because it makes all the components of our system loosely coupled. So it is very easy for us to add new services and new components into the web framework. We choose to use the open source model from the beginning. It was one of the key ideas when Nuxeo was founded. For our clients, this means the possibility to get upgrades and new features into the platform for free. It’s also a great motivation for a lot of the developers that work at Nuxeo to know that their work benefits the open source community. I also think open source is a great model for producing high quality software. Using the JBoss
